American Crisis: The System Won’t Bend Toward Justice on Its Own

May 29, 2017

American crisis is all over the media. It seems like every day there is some new turmoil spiraling us deeper into the twilight zone.

When will the madness stop? Right?

Cayce and I were talking, and his perspective was to hope for the system to correct itself. And I know that’s the prevailing thought: that the system will correct itself and all will be well. It’s part of the beauty of our system of democracy they say…that whenever there’s an American crisis, the system will autocorrect.

[spp-tweet tweet=”#Liberals hope the present #AmericanCrisis will simply autocorrect; that’s false hope, right?”]

It’s not a bad thought, really. It gives a sense of hope: no matter how bad things get, the won’t be bad for long. Sooner or later the American crisis will be averted because the “divine design” of the Constitution will repair the breach.

I understood what Cayce was saying, but I had to break his heart on that one…

Not simply because I’m an angry Black man! LOL. But, because I see it as false hope.

And that’s the focus of our conversation on this episode of Racial Heresy.

What do you think? Is it a good hope for us to believe that the system will autocorrect? We’d love to hear from you.
